Who we are

At Software Improvement Group (SIG), we empower organisations to enhance their software quality through in-depth source code analysis and customised strategic advice. Our software assurance platform, Sigrid, combined with our expert IT consultants, allows our clients to take full control of their software environments. This ensures that their technology becomes a driver of success rather than a source of risk. With a strong market presence and ambitious growth plans for the coming years, we are looking for individuals who want to help us achieve these goals.

Where you come in

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a vital role as the link between marketing and sales. The BDR is responsible for developing, qualifying, and nurturing leads. This includes gathering intelligence, profiling relevant prospects, and converting them into opportunities.

Leads may be generated through various channels, including marketing efforts, focused BDRs, partners, consultants, or the Sales Executive’s personal network.

The BDR is tasked with following up on leads and will be in direct contact with decision-makers and stakeholders from some of the world’s largest companies. Collaboration with other BDRs, as well as teams in marketing, sales, and consulting, is essential to identify, qualify, and nurture business opportunities for SIG. In conjunction with your manager, specific targets will be set, such as the number of appointments or pipeline creation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather intelligence through account profiling.
  • Generate appointments for our sales team.
  • Develop C-level business opportunities.
  • Research the organizational structure of accounts and their businesses to create value propositions and identify opportunities.
  • Orchestrate and conduct web presentations and conference calls as needed.
  • Follow up on marketing campaigns.
  • Enrich and maintain our Salesforce database with relevant details and insights.
  • Prepare reports on the sales pipeline and forecasts.
  • Prioritize weekly actions and outcomes, providing reports on successes and challenges each week.
  • Attend trade shows and other sales and marketing events.

What Success Looks Like

  • Generating a stronger, qualified pipeline.
  • Accelerating deal velocity in enterprise opportunities.
  • Increasing engagement from buying committees and key stakeholders.
  •  Achieving measurable revenue growth from existing customers.

What's in it for you?

Our company is experiencing rapid international growth, which presents a unique opportunity for you to collaborate with a diverse talent pool. We have a flat organizational structure that encourages entrepreneurship, initiative, and creativity.

You will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry. Our team consists of highly educated individuals, with the majority holding a Master's degree and 30% possessing a PhD in technology and software engineering.

We take pride in being the only company in the world with a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for software quality analysis. Additionally, we offer competitive compensation packages.

Job Requirements

Candidates should have a strong affinity with software to effectively engage with prospects and customers. You will thrive in this position if you possess perseverance and are comfortable making phone calls, engaging quickly and confidently without relying on a script.

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in B2B lead generation and sales lead development.
  • Experience working with enterprise-level customers and navigating complex buying processes.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with sales teams and revenue leaders.
  • Experience in North American markets, particularly in the enterprise or public sector, is a plus.
  • Excellent phone and digital communication skills, including proficiency in email, Excel, LinkedIn, and CRM systems.
  • Strong communication and listening skills at a senior level, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of a prospect's organization.
  • Capability to handle objections without being discouraged by rejection; self-motivated, target-driven, and determined to exceed goals.
  • Skill in turning objections into opportunities.
  • Proactive in keeping knowledge and skills current.
  • Understanding of the Software Quality market and its competition is a plus.
